General Information

Our self catering accommodation lies some eight miles from Finstown in the village of Evie. The cottages are situated on a working dairy farm with Eynhallow Sound, Aikerness sands and the Broch of Gurness all within easy walking distance. The complex, based on an old farm steading, bears much of its original character and not far away an old mill lead provides shelter for a small camp site. Mountain bikes can be arranged for our guests. We can arrange boats, outboard and boatman on all the main lochs, along with basic instruction for novices.

The cottages are comfortably furnished in country style. Kitchens are equipped with cooking utensils, crockery, glasses, refrigerators, toasters, microwave ovens, and electric cookers. Each cottage also has a TV with DVD player, a Radio/CD player and, for the 2007 season, a digi box and satellite TV aerial giving our guests the choice of all 'Freesat' channels.

You can, if you wish, arrange to provide your own bed linen etc, however, may we suggest for convenience and comfort, your beds are ready made up on arrival using our newly laundered bed linen. Fresh towels would also be provided for each person. This only attracts a small extra charge of £5.00 per head to cover laundry costs.

We also have one or two fold up beds making it possible to accommodate larger family groups of up to five people. There is a laundry room on site, which also houses a deep freeze, for the use of guests. Electricity is metered in each cottage. In the summer season the cost is inclusive, but in winter discount periods is charged for at local 'Electricity provider' rates. There is ample car parking space adjacent to each entrance, and one of the cottages has provision for the partially disabled.

For the 2010 season we hope to have WiFi Broadband access available in all cottages.
