Introduction

Peter Heaton, Colin and Beatrice Richardson, welcome you to 'Eviedale'.

As friends and partners we ran a joint enterprise on the Orkney mainland comprising our Eviedale Friesian herd, the Eviedale Cottages, and a small campsite. For the past forty years we have worked together at both beef and dairy farming, with brief spells in commercial fishing, outdoor activities and the catering business. With our background, we are confident we are able to offer guests a relaxed and interesting environment in which to enjoy their holiday here in Orkney.

The islands can be reached by using car ferries from Aberdeen , Scrabster, Gills bay and Shetland. In Summer, a 'passenger only ferry', runs from John 'o' Groats. The Islands are also serviced daily by flights connecting to all the major Scottish cities. Eviedale, which is within half an hour of all car ferry terminals, and also the airport, is situated on the Northern coast of the Orkney mainland overlooking the spectacular Eynhallow sound. The Islands of Rousay,Eynhallow and Westray create a wonderful backdrop.
